The percentage of failing grades in multiple UC Berkeley computer science classes in spring 2026 is significantly higher than past semesters and marks a departure from the department’s grading guidelines. According to Berkeleytime, 35.3% of CS 10 students and 10.6% of CS 61A students received F’s in spring 2026.

Shake Shack shakes up Downtown Berkeley scene

For the past two years, UC Berkeley senior Math Heramia has been living at Anchor House in Downtown Berkeley. And for the past two years, Heramia and his friends have been waiting for the Shake Shack on the ground floor to open. When Shake Shack announced plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, Heramia and his friends rented a tent, bought pizza and camped out in front of the restaurant Monday evening. “We always had this plan of going to sleep out the first night,” Heramia said.
