ER stress-mediated impairment of hepatic lipid export is associated with steatosis in AKI-induced remote liver injury
Abstract Acute kidney injury (AKI) frequently causes remote organ injury including hepatic steatosis, yet whether lipid accumulation reflects increased synthesis or impaired clearance has not been resolved. We used a murine ischemia-reperfusion AKI model. Unbiased liver proteomics was performed at 24 h after reperfusion, and dysregulated pathways were identified by Gene Set Enrichment Analysis. Results were validated by Western blotting, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry.
Unlocking the reactivity of difluoroketene and its synthetic applications
Abstract Discovery and application of reactive intermediates has prominently expedited the development of organic chemistry. In this respect, while ketene has been well recognized as a versatile intermediate for a wide range of transformations, practical application of difluoroketene remained virtually unrealized because of its highly reactive nature. Herein, we present a transition-metal-free approach for in situ generation of difluoroketene using difluorobromoacetylsilane as a precursor.
Effect of electroacupuncture on metabolic level and quality of life in patients with obese polycystic ovary syndrome: a randomized controlled trial
Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Shanghai, China Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) intervention on patients with obese polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), with specific analysis focusing on the following dimensions: 1) whether EA can reduce patients’ body mass index (BMI); 2) to evaluate the regulatory effect of EA on key endocrine and metabolic indicators...
