Liz Lee’s Biography

Seven years at Reuters, in Malaysia and currently in China. I am a Breaking News correspondent covering Greater China based at the news agency's Beijing bureau. I arrived here amid zero-Covid and have covered a range of topics from diplomacy, economic data to extreme weather.

I work with speed, alongside a team at the breaking news hub, turning fresh statements into snaps and stories for our clients. Our work covers all beats.

Previously, I was reporting mainly on corporate developments such as IPOs, M&As, politically-linked financial news, private equity, venture capital and startups in Malaysia (at Reuters, a Singapore-based media outlet and the country's top English daily).

I have written about a range of sectors including aviation, technology, banking, palm oil, property, and delivered scoops on deals and murkier corporate issues like forced labour in Malaysia.

While primarily company news reporter, I also had opportunities to report on general news , politics and elections, as well as the occasional human interest stories.
