Beijing — China’s Commerce Ministry said Monday that new U.S. tariffs imposed on Chinese goods due to alleged forced labor were unjustified and amounted to protectionism, and urged Washington to remove them. The United States on Friday imposed new tariffs of 10% and 12.5% ​​on goods from 60 trading partners, including the EU and China, alleging those countries had failed to reduce imports resulting from forced labor. China was assigned a rate of 12.5%.
