Gut commensal Streptococcus parasanguinis -derived bacterial extracellular vesicles drive host neuroinflammatory activation in temporal lobe epilepsy
Abstract Gut microbial communities modulate host physiology through diverse bioactive functional outputs; however, how microbiome-derived signals shape neuroinflammatory states remains incompletely understood. Here, we identified Streptococcus parasanguinis (S. parasanguinis, G14) as a gut-enriched commensal associated with elevated neuroinflammatory activity in the context of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). In a lithium‒pilocarpine-induced mouse model, S.
Safety, accuracy, empathy, reliability, and readability of large language model chatbot responses to public-facing vegetarian and vegan nutrition advice questions: a cross-sectional comparative study
Abstract Background: Publicly accessible large language model (LLM) chatbots are increasingly used to seek nutrition advice. Although vegetarian and vegan nutrition advice is often perceived as low risk, it may involve supplementation, vulnerable life stages, chronic disease, and symptoms that require clinical assessment.
Targeting MEST using cobicistat as a therapeutic strategy for gastric cancer through suppressing NF-κB signaling
Abstract Background: Gastric cancer (GC) constitutes a substantial global public health challenge, and the lack of tractable molecular targets limits therapeutic progress. Mesoderm-Specific Transcript (MEST) has been implicated in tumor-related signaling, yet its functional role and druggability in GC remain undefined. Methods: The analyses of GC tissue microarrays and cohorts were performed to evaluate MEST expression and its clinical significance.
Loss of DNA methyltransferase 3a enhances Caspase-8 transcription and promotes cardiomyocyte pyroptosis during myocardial infarction
Abstract Aspartate-specific cysteine protease (Caspase)-8 plays a critical role in initiating pyroptosis by mediating cleavage and activation of gasdermin-D (Gsdmd) during Yersinia infection. However, the role of Caspase-8 in pyroptosis after myocardial infarction (MI) and its underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here we show that Caspase-8 is essential for cardiomyocyte pyroptosis post MI and Caspase-8/Gsdmd signaling pathway is activated in hearts of male infarcted mice.
NKG2D CAR-T cells for solid tumor immunotherapy: advances, challenges, and future directions
1 Introduction CAR-T cell therapy has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in the treatment of hematological malignancies, yielding remarkable clinical responses in leukemia, multiple myeloma, and B-cell lymphomas, but its therapeutic efficacy in solid tumors remains limited (1, 2).
Targeted DDR1 Treatment Strategy Enhances PD-1 Immunotherapy Efficacy against Gastric Cancer
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! GC constitutes a major global public health burden characterized by poor prognosis. (1) Indeed, as the fifth most prevalent malignancy (2) and third leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide, (3) it exhibits particularly high incidence in East Asia. (4) Moreover, global GC cases are projected to rise dramatically by 62% to 1.77 million by 2040.
Multi-Attention Meets Pareto Optimization: A Reinforcement Learning Method for Adaptive UAV Formation Control
Submitted: 14 September 2025 Posted: 16 September 2025 You are already at the latest version Autonomous multi-UAV formation control in cluttered urban environments remains challenging due to partial observability, dense and dynamic obstacles, and conflicting objectives (task efficiency, energy use, and safety).
ULBP2 CAR-T cells enhance gastric cancer immunotherapy by inhibiting CAF activation - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is characterised by a dense stromal microenvironment, lack of therapeutic targets, and limited effective treatment options, collectively leading to a poor prognosis. Here, we identify UL16 binding protein 2 (ULBP2) as a potential therapeutic target in GC. Mechanistically, ULBP2 overexpression activates the TGF-β signalling pathway, promoting the activation of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and tumor progression in GC.
The Role of BMP2/4 in Intestinal Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury: Bridging Smad1/5 and Notch Pathways via Smad6
Intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is a significant clinical problem linked to conditions like acute mesenteric ischemia and intestinal obstruction. This study explores the mechanisms of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs)-Smads and Notch pathways in I/R injury. The study employed both in vitro experiments and animal models to analyze the interactions between BMP2/4, the Smad1/5 pathway, and the Notch signaling pathway.

Morphology and Effect of Load on Bridge Piers Impacted by Continuous Sea Ice
1. Introduction In the project example, cross-sea bridge piers in the winter ice flow period are often hit by the sea ice swarm. The collision of the coupling force generated by the piers and collision avoidance facilities will cause varying degrees of damage and, in extreme cases, even cause the collapse of the bridge piers, the main beams falling off, and other phenomena, and the piers play a role in supporting the superstructure of the bridge.
Self-Organizing Memory Based on Adaptive Resonance Theory for Vision and Language Navigation
1. Introduction Vision and language navigation plays a crucial role in embodied AI research, which requires an agent to interpret natural language navigational commands in light of photo-realistic images generated by a previously unseen scene [1].
Spatially Dependent Bayesian Modeling of Geostatistics Data and Its Application for Tuberculosis (TB) in China
6. Disscussion When processing and analyzing geostatistic data or other spatial problems, the effects of spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity cannot be ignored. In this paper, a new latent Bayesian spatial model is proposed to better take into account the spatial dependence of subjects and spatial random effects.
Multi-Agent Chronological Planning with Model-Agnostic Meta Reinforcement Learning
1. Introduction In recent years, Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) has attracted a great deal of interest in the AI community. As a cutting-edge research direction, MARL is closely related to decision theory, game theory, optimization methods, agent-based modeling, and so forth. In real-world scenarios, MARL has a broad range of promising applications, such as robotics control [1,2,3], power grid [4,5,6], real-time strategy games [7,8], etc.
Fabric-Type Flexible Energy-Storage Devices for Wearable Electronics
6. Conclusions and Prospects In this review, we have systematically summarized the state-of-the-art developments in flexible fabric-type energy-storage devices, as well as their hybrid fabrics for energy harvesting and storage in wearable electronics. We have introduced four assembly strategies for forming intelligent fibers into intelligent fabrics, including direct coating based on the fabric, layer stacking of fabric electrodes, interweaving of fiber electrodes, and weaving of fiber devices.
