2015 Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella, Italy, Veneto, Wine Review Vintage: 2015 Score: 93 Grade: A Current Price: $40.00USD This is a very nice Amarone that is not crazy expensive if one shops around. It is a step up from their "Pasqua" bottling. This is a blend of 65% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Corvinone, and 5% Negrara. It has a true Amarone quality about it. Deep ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries, spice, slight dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla.

This is excellent. Salmon Pink in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with light strawberries and light watermelon. With air, the nose gets a bit more intense but always seems on the lighter side. Medium bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, this is crisp, food friendly and tasty. Many Rose's seem to be going for a broader palate with less acidity but not this one. It has nice acidity and plenty of fruit. Flavors of cherries with some watermelon. More strawberry on the finish.

This wine has at least 75% Mourvedre. In this vintage it is  83% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache and 7% Other varietals. Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is earthy and dusty with cherries and slight black cherries. Medium to full bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, black cherries, some cherries and a slight root beer note. Good finish. This drinks well on its own but would be better with food. This would go well with Roasted Eggplant Parmesan. Drink over the next ten years.
