From July 20 through Aug. 1, audiences in the Appleton area have a unique opportunity to be immersed in classical music as an up-close experience, and perhaps a personal discovery. The Lawrence Chamber Music Festival starts with faculty from Lawrence Conservatory of Music, adds faculty from around the world and then reaches out to young artists, bringing 40 of those new performers to Appleton.

For the weekend of Jan. 27-29, the focus was on Baroque works, beginning with Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Suite from "Naïs," an opera depicting the sea god Neptune’s love story with the eponymous water nymph.
