Environmental groups in a new lawsuit say the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources backtracked on plans to conduct a full environmental review for a $15 billion data center campus in Port Washington. On Friday, Midwest Environmental Advocates, or MEA, sued the DNR on behalf of Sierra Club Wisconsin in Ozaukee County Circuit Court.

Tableware manufacturer Hoffmaster Group is expanding, with plans to add 100 jobs in rural Clintonville. The Fox Valley-based company is planning a $65 million expansion of its manufacturing plant there, expected to create more than 100 manufacturing jobs. To support the project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. authorized up to $1 million in state tax credits over the next three years.

Isle Royale National Park on Lake Superior closes campground due to wolves

Wolves that steal backpacks and enter tents have prompted officials at Isle Royale National Park to temporarily close one of the park’s 36 campgrounds. The park said in a press release Thursday that the closure runs through July 31. Isle Royale is a part of Michigan located in Lake Superior south of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The closure affects individual tent and group campsites at Three Mile Campground, which is located off of Rock Harbor on the island’s northeast side.

The Wisconsin attorney general gets to control money from multistate lawsuits, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Friday. The decision by the court’s liberal majority in favor of Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul is just the latest chapter in a long-winding separation of powers saga dating back nearly eight years. It effectively secures the authority of the state Department of Justice to decide what to do with settlement money in lawsuits the state wins.

One of the oldest summer camps in North America is celebrating its 130th anniversary as a place where kids can enjoy Wisconsin summers. Generations of families have a history at Phantom Lake YMCA Summer Camp in Mukwonago.
