South Carolina football on Thursday landed its second commitment for the Class of 2028. Rising junior receiver Jhamari Cain of Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia, committed to Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks in a ceremony at his high school. He joins Joseph “Jet” Gibbs as USC’s two commitments for 2028. Gibbs also is a receiver. The 6-foot-1 Cain is teammates with Gamecocks 2027 WR commitment Iveon Lewis. South Carolina offered him more than a year ago.

State's top basketball recruit leaving SC to play for IMG Academy

Lou Bezjak South Carolina's highest-ranked high school basketball prospect will be finishing his high school career out of state. Josh Leonard of Wilson High in Florence is transferring to IMG Academy in Florida, Upward Stars AAU coach Curt Wheeler and Wilson coach Yusef English confirmed to The State on Wednesday. Leonard plays with the Stars on the Adidas AAU circuit. Sam Kayser of League Ready was the first to report the news. Leonard later posted on his Instagram that he was headed to IMG.

Josh Leonard of Wilson High in Florence is transferring to IMG Academy in Florida, Upward Stars AAU coach Curt Wheeler confirmed to The State on Wednesday. Leonard plays with the Stars on the Adidas AAU circuit. Sam Kayser of League Ready was the first to report the news. Rumors of Leonard’s possible decision to play out of state have been going around for the past several months.
