If you love vintage icons, street art and leisurely strolls through your city, this is right up your alley. This August, murals will be popping up all over the country inspired by John Gilroy's legendary illustrations from the 1930s ads for Guinness. You know the ones. Named Lovely Day Canada, the national public art campaign pairs icons with icons, featuring vibrant city-inspired artworks in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Halifax, St John's, Whistler and Quebec City.

A pair of lobsters has claimed a prime spot by the seawall. Toucans are circling Gastown, and one has made itself comfortable atop the Steam Clock. Vancouver hasn’t changed – but a few familiar places have welcomed some rather unexpected visitors. This August, Guinness is bringing its Lovely Day Canada campaign to Vancouver, with charming murals popping up throughout the city.

Toronto in August is made for wandering. And this year, there's another reason to go for a leisurely summer stroll around the 6ix. Inspired by illustrator John Gilroy's famous Guinness ads, Lovely Day Canada is turning Toronto into a free public art show with a vintage twist. The result is part nostalgia-coded, part Toronto scavenger hunt and a reason to step out with your gang and have, well, a lovely day.
