1 Introduction Dementia poses a significant global health challenge, affecting 55 million people worldwide, projected to rise to 78 million by 2030 and 139 million by 2050 [1]. In the United Kingdom, approximately 944,000 people currently live with dementia, a number expected to exceed 1 million by 2030 [2]. People living with dementia (PLWD) and their families face complex medical, social and emotional needs, often exacerbated by social isolation and difficulties accessing timely support [3, 4].
