Introduction As the aglycon of geniposide, genipin has been reported to exhibit various biological activities in the prevention and treatment of brain diseases, such as anti-cerebral ischemia [1], anti-alzheimer's disease [2], anti-parkinson disease [3]. Previous studies suggest that genipin could serve as a promising lead compound for the treatment of brain diseases.
