What was your first job as a journalist?

Writing for the Duke student newspaper.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Pen and notepad, Excel, Google Docs, voice memos, laptop, Trello.

My next piece.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime between 10 and 2.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That by virtue of living in Durham and by writing for Duke's alumni magazine, I only write (or want to write) about Duke basketball.
