Penguins at a zoo are making a splash with their new wave machine after a fundraising campaign by local children. The feature at Marwell Zoo, near Winchester, Hampshire, otherwise known as a flow cannon, was powered up on Saturday morning. It was funded by children from World of Swimming in Eastleigh, who completed sponsored lengths and raised more than £15,000.

The opening date for a new H&M store in Brighton has been announced. The shop is set to open at the front of Churchill Square, in the unit formerly home to Topshop. It will feature H&M Home products alongside womenswear, menswear, kidswear and beauty products. Customers will also benefit from H&M’s “smart store solution”, a digital product-locator map that allows them to find what they are looking for “in seconds”.

Two "veteran pothole campaigners" have celebrated the eighth birthday of a pothole by throwing it a party. Former councillor Martin McCabe and town crier Bob Smytherman celebrated the milestone of a pothole in Pevensey Garden, West Worthing, yesterday, March 5, which was first reported eight years ago on the Fill My Hole and FixMyStreet websites. Concerns surrounding the deteriorating condition of the road were also reported, the pair said.
