I chose to study Philosophy because the very first time I encountered it — back in school, reading Descartes’ Meditations — I was struck by how different it felt from anything I’d read before. Here was someone pulling apart reality itself, doubting even the ground beneath his feet, and I remember feeling electrified by the idea that thinking could be this radical. From that moment, philosophy became the subject I wanted to dedicate myself to. That’s why I went to university to study it.
