There are so many ways to dispatch foes in video games, with varying levels of satisfaction. Most of us have been slicing, shooting and squashing foes for longer than we can even remember, and grin over the bodies of those who were once standing in our way. Sometimes though it feels nice to avoid getting your hands dirty, and allowing someone else to take the heat while you sit and watch from a comfy chair.

Tactics games have been a staple of my gaming diet for years now, and not just because they provide all the vitamins and minerals I need to grow into a healthy boy. Having to make strategic decisions in how to win battles of gamified chess is always so compelling, it’s just a shame that because the brain power needed is more intense the stories often take themselves so seriously.

There are few emotions that feel more human than anger. For a long time I often saw anger as a weakness, and I’d judge people for letting small issues overwhelm them and make them rage. In the right situation though anger is a gift. We should be angry about poverty, we should be angry about bigotry, and most of all we should be angry about the injustice that lets these things happen.
