MUSKEGON, MI -- The sun can’t set on summer without a blowout beach party along Lake Michigan. Burning Foot Beer Festival is back for its 10th annual summer bash on Saturday, Aug, 23. The festival is a celebration of craft brews, beach vibes and live music. Hosted every year by the Lakeshore Brewers Guild, breweries from across Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana will line Pere Marquette Beach.

Once the most isolated light station 151 years ago, Au Sable is now a Michigan icon

GRAND MARAIS, MI -- When it was built, Au Sable Light Station was known for its seclusion out on the spine-chilling waters of Lake Superior. Now 151 years later, the light station is a celebrated piece of Michigan maritime history. This week marks the light station’s birthday, when it was first lit on August 19, 1874. Separated from civilization by 12 miles of sand dunes, Michigan’s Au Sable lighthouse was one of the most isolated stations when it was built.

Pierogi, polka, and Polish traditions return to Muskegon for 10th year

MUSKEGON, MI -- The fryers will be bubbling, the accordions tuned and the flower crowns arranged just right for the 10th annual Muskegon Polish Festival. Founded a decade ago by Polish community members, the annual festival is an immersive cultural experience of authentic food, imported beers, live polka music, dancing and cultural demonstrations. Every Labor Day Weekend the festival takes over Hackley Park with vibrancy, bringing Polish culture to the forefront, 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Aug 29-30.
