Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are clusters of atoms composed of silver atoms and have at least one dimension on the three-dimensional (3D) scale of 1–100 nm (Abbasi et al., 2016). It is reported that AgNPs are one of the most widely used metallic nanomaterials in recent decades, and their global production is expected to be as high as about 800 tons by 2025 (Li et al., 2016).
