A hybrid machine learning-GCO framework for multi-response optimization in AWJ machining of MWCNT infused Mg-FMLs
ABSTRACT A hybrid machine learning (ML)-assisted framework was developed to predict and optimize abrasive waterjet (AWJ) machining of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-infused magnesium fibre metal laminates (Mg-FMLs). Thirty experiments were conducted using a four-factor Box–Behnken design, and bootstrap sampling-based augmentation generated 540 additional synthetic observations.
Rent reform, yes - but not without Judges: What the Gujarat Rent Bill 2026 gets wrong
Walk through the pols of Ahmedabad’s walled city and you may encounter a cloth merchant whose family has rented the same shop since before independence. Their rent is calculated based on property values from the year 1940. For them, the Gujarat Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act, 1947 (“the 1947 Act”) is far from an abstraction. Section 12, which bars eviction so long as a tenant pays the standard rent, is the reason they continues to occupy the shop.
A hybrid antlion and hunter prey optimization paradigm for optimal allocation of distributed generation in radial distribution system
Abstract Optimal selection of distributed generation (DG) locations and sizes is essential for improving the performance of radial distribution systems (RDSs). This paper proposes a hybrid Ant Lion Optimizer–Hunter-Prey Optimizer (ALO–HPO) for optimal DG placement and sizing, combining the global search capability of ALO with the local refinement characteristics of HPO to achieve an improved exploration–exploitation balance.
Optimized energy efficient cluster based routing protocol for real time communication in 5G enabled VANETs using reinforcement learning
Abstract The fusion of fifth generation (5G) communication technologies with Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) provides the possibility to achieve low latency and reliable communication for intelligent transportation systems. But with high mobility of the vehicles, the frequent topology change, variable link quality, growing network density, and energy limitation, the traditional routing protocols are facing major challenges.
Integrated preservative and packaging strategies suppresses senescence in loose marigold ( Tagetes erecta L.) by preserving antioxidants and membrane integrity
Abstract Loose marigold flowers are highly perishable and suffer substantial postharvest losses because of rapid moisture loss, accelerated respiration, membrane deterioration, and oxidative damage. Although packaging technologies have been widely investigated for extending the shelf life of loose flowers, information on the integrated use of chemical preservatives and packaging materials remains limited.
Visualization based malware classification under extreme class imbalance: a transfer learning approach with systematic ablation
Abstract Malware detection and classification continues to be a major concern of cybersecurity since threat attackers are refining to come up with more advanced and elusive malicious code. Visualization-based solutions that transform raw binary executables into grayscale images and the use of convolutional neural networks to classify them have shown excellent potential. However, little is known about the influence of each training element in a real-world classification state of class imbalance.

Agricultural women labourers are the backbone of the rural farm economy in India. They are engaged in casual and seasonal employment at lower wages on a regular basis as compared to men doing the same work.
Intelligent energy management in renewable-powered microgrid using Z-dualflux converter and RBFNN control
Abstract In this research, a sophisticated intelligent energy management framework that integrates wind, solar and battery energy storage devices is proposed for a grid-connected system. Enhancing deep neural network robustness against projected gradient descent attacks through adversarial training
Abstract Deep neural networks (DNNs) remain vulnerable to adversarial examples, particularly to iterative white-box attacks such as Projected Gradient Descent (PGD). This study evaluates PGD adversarial training using a ResNet-18-inspired architecture adapted for single-channel 28 × 28 inputs. The architectural configuration replaces the conventional max-pooling stage with an identity mapping to preserve spatial information and retains residual connections throughout the feature extractor.
Design and evaluation of a chitosan microsphere-hydrogel system for sustained topical delivery of tramadol hydrochloride
Abstract Conventional tramadol formulations are limited by frequent dosing, variable plasma levels, leading to side effects and poor patient compliance. To address this, design and develop a unique dual-polymer system that incorporates tramadol-loaded chitosan microspheres into a chitosan-guar gum hydrogel matrix. TMH-loaded chitosan microspheres were prepared using ionic gelation with sodium tripolyphosphate as a crosslinker.

Mechanical and self-healing behaviour of denitrifying bacteria-based mortar with nano-graphene oxide and fly ash
Abstract This study investigates an optimized denitrifying bacteria-based self-healing mortar incorporating nano-graphene oxide (nGO) and fly ash (FA). In this system, denitrifying bacteria induce CaCO₃ precipitation to seal cracks, nGO promotes nucleation and improves matrix densification, and FA contributes to pozzolanic reactions that refine pore structure and enhance later-age strength. Mechanical, durability, microstructural, and crack-healing properties were evaluated.

Authorities urged to curb new wave of ‘upgraded’ beggars
KUALA LUMPUR: They are dressed up in costumes of cartoon characters like Super Mario, Luigi and Doraemon, as well as animals and dinosaurs. But these mascots, who are now a regular sight at public spaces, are not there to entertain. They are asking for donations. Or, to be put it blunty - they are begging. At a bazaar here, the crowd shuffles along in the stifling late afternoon heat, flanked by rows of stalls selling food and drinks.

QuickCheck: Is Nasa thinking of nuking an asteroid that may be headed for the Moon?
Where is Bruce Willis when you need him? Apparently, a 55-metre wide asteroid may be about to smack into our moon, and Nasa is thinking about blowing it up with a nuclear weapon before it does. Is this true? VERDICT: TRUE Asteroid 2024 YR4 was discovered in December 2024 and became briefly famous when scientists predicted it had a 3.1% chance of hitting Earth in 2032. However, further observations reduced the asteroid's chances of colliding with Earth to 0.28%.

Predictive coding of reward in the hippocampus - Nature
Abstract Anticipating future outcomes is a fundamental task of the brain1,2,3. This process requires learning the states of the world as well as the transitional relationships between those states. In rodents, the hippocampal spatial cognitive map is thought to be one such internal model4. However, evidence for predictive coding5,6 and reward sensitivity7,8,9,10 in the hippocampal neuronal representation suggests that its role extends beyond purely spatial representation.

QuickCheck: Is male pattern baldness inherited from the mother's side?
Jason Statham, Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. What do these famous actors have in common other than being in the Fast and Furious movie franchise? They're bald, of course. Multilinear behaviour of radiated flow with suspended autocatalytic reaction
This research examines the combined impact of non-linear autocatalytic chemical reactions and thermal radiation on fluid flow around a swirling cylinder. Classic models tend to ignore the complexities of such interactions, resulting in less precise predictions. Incorporating equal diffusivity, quartic autocatalytic reactions and non-linear quadratic thermal radiation, the study presents a more realistic representation of flow behaviour.
QuickCheck: Is the Sahara the world's largest desert?
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Anakin Skywalker's awkward attempt at wooing Padmé aside, he does have a point. He knew better than most about the downsides of sand, having been born on the desert planet Tatooine. It was hot and covered in endless sand dunes, much like the deserts on our own planet, Earth. One of the most famous deserts on earth is the Sahara Desert.
