Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease and a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States and worldwide (1–3). Besides, asthma affects every 1 in 13 adults and 1 in 12 children making it one of the most common chronic diseases (1). Asthma is often a result of severe inflammation, hyperreactivity, and remodeling of the airways resulting in episodic bronchoconstriction (4–11).
