LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A woman died while in the custody of the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility Thursday, officials say. Her death is the fourth in two months at the Washtenaw County prison. Dalephenia Jones died at the hospital, the Michigan Department of Corrections said in a release. She was 62. The MDOC says she had a cardiac event on June 19. On that day, MDOC officers brought her to the facility’s healthcare area, where staff called for an ambulance.

(WOOD) — After the developer behind Adelaide Pointe filed for bankruptcy, the parties have reached an interim settlement agreement that will let the bankruptcy process move forward, according to his attorney. Adelaide Pointe, Michigan’s first new marina in almost three decades, has been opening in stages since 2024. Located at 1204 Western Ave. along Muskegon Lake, the 30-acre development includes wet and dry marinas, a restaurant, an event center and bike paths.

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) — A 16-month-old shot in the stomach on Tuesday is expected to survive, police say. The 16-month-old was shot in the stomach Tuesday evening in what police believe was an accidental shooting. In a Thursday update, the Jackson Police Department said the 16-month-old is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. The shooting happened inside a unit at Southridge Park Apartment.
