Alabama commits $40M to struggling hospital

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has committed $40 million for capital expenses atJackson Hospital in Montgomery, Ala.,  to be issued once the hospital exits bankruptcy. “Right now in Montgomery, our healthcare system faces its own unique struggles with the current situation at Jackson Hospital,” Ms. Ivey said in a Feb. 24 news release.

BJC boosts margin to 3.8% after St. Luke’s merger

St. Louis-based BJC Health System reported a $454.5 million operating income (3.8% margin) in 2025, up from a $325.6 million operating income (3% margin) the previous year, according to its most recent financial report. BJC merged with Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Health System in January 2024. The 24-hospital organization rebranded as BJC Health in late 2025. Six things to know: 1. New Mexico system to downsize headquarters by more than half

Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System is moving its headquarters, which will reduce its footprint by more than half, a spokesperson for the system confirmed with Becker’s. Lovelace’s new headquarters will be located at 4400 Masthead St. NE in Albuquerque. The only reduction will be its physical footprint, the spokesperson said.
