1. Introduction The Quasi-Biennial Oscillation (QBO) is a famous mode of atmospheric variability that is characterized by alternating easterly and westerly wind regimes in the equatorial stratosphere, with a mean period of 28 months (Ern et al., 2023; Anstey et al., 2022; Baldwin et al., 2001; Gray et al., 1992; Zhou et al., 2024). The QBO is formed through a complex interaction between atmospheric waves and the mean flow in the equatorial stratosphere.
