DETROIT, Mich. (WNEM) - Sardines are earning a spot among today’s top superfoods, according to dietitians. Allegra Picano, a registered dietitian based in Detroit, said the small fish is rich in several key nutrients. “They are rich and have really important nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, vitamin D and protein, and I think that people are kind of catching on to all of the benefits that you can really get in just a little fish,” Picano said.
