Compared with other fossil fuels, natural gas produces less carbon dioxide and environmental pollution during combustion [1]. Methane (CH4) is the main component of natural gas; however, many natural gas reservoirs contain a certain amount of nitrogen (N2) [2], [3]. The presence of N2 not only reduces the calorific value of combustion, but also does not meet pipeline standards, so its removal is the key to improving the quality of natural gas [4].
