Cork County Council mistakenly bought a property located in Co Limerick, which was due to be used for social housing. The local authority acquired the property located in the townland of Kilglass, Anglesboro, Co Limerick, near Mitchelstown and the Galtee Mountains. The council was not aware that the property purchased was located in Co Limerick.

Cork to experience humid conditions, according to latest Met Éireann outlook

This Monday will be warm and mainly dry, although a little drizzle may occur. That's according to Met Éireann who said highest temperatures will be between 16 to 20 degrees for Cork and Kerry - and from 20C to 22C degrees for the rest of the Munster region, with light to moderate southwesterly breezes. Meanwhile, this evening will be mild, humid and mainly dry with some clear spells and patches of mist or fog. Lowest temperatures will be between 12C to 15C with light southerly breezes.

Brother's tribute to van driver killed in single vehicle incident on Lee Road

A father, aged in his 50s, who died in a single vehicle collision in Cork city earlier this week has been named as Rory Ross. Mr Ross from Killala Gardens in Knocknaheeny died after his van crashed on the Lee Road in Cork City on Tuesday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His brother, Khristian Ross, paid a heartfelt tribute on Rip.ie, describing him as a “thoughtful” man with a great sense of humour. “What can I say about my brother, he was funny and thoughtful always a rogue.
