EVApeCognition: An 18-Year Dataset of Great Ape Cognition
Abstract The study of great ape cognition offers insights into the evolutionary origins of human intelligence, but is hindered by small sample sizes and restricted access to data. To address this, we present the EVApeCognition Dataset, a publicly available resource comprising 262 experimental datasets from 150 scientific publications from the Wolfgang Köhler Primate Research Center (2004–2021) in Leipzig, Germany.
Understanding cultural variation in cognition one child at a time - Nature Reviews Psychology
Cross-cultural developmental research is crucial for understanding the roots of human cognition. Although group-level analyses can reveal how culture co-varies with cognition, individual-level analyses are needed to discern how specific cultural and ecological factors influence cognitive development.
Variation in gaze following across the life span: A process‐level perspective
1 INTRODUCTION Following the gaze of others is valuable for extracting information from the environment. It guides us to “informational hotspots” (Meltzoff et al., 2010, p. 1) and can be used to identify internal states such as intentions or emotions (Corkum & Moore, 1998; Pfeiffer et al., 2013).

Validation of an open source, remote web‐based eye‐tracking method (WebGazer) for research in early childhood
1 INTRODUCTION Eye-tracking technology allows researchers to better understand childrens' interactions with the world. Compared to the manual coding of gaze behaviors, eye-tracking can automatically and accurately track gaze patterns on more complex stimuli with higher spatial and temporal resolution (Oakes, 2012; Wass et al., 2013).
Great ape cognition is structured by stable cognitive abilities and predicted by developmental conditions - Nature Ecology & Evolution
Abstract Great ape cognition is used as a reference point to specify the evolutionary origins of complex cognitive abilities, including in humans. This research often assumes that great ape cognition consists of cognitive abilities (traits) that account for stable differences between individuals, which change and develop in response to experience.
Analytic reproducibility in articles receiving open data badges at the journal Psychological Science: an observational study
1. Introduction A minimum quality standard expected of all scientific manuscripts is that any reported numerical values can be reproduced if the original analyses are repeated upon the original data [1]. This concept is known as analytic reproducibility ([2]; or relatedly, computational reproducibility,1 [3]). When a number cannot be reproduced, this minimally indicates that the process by which it was calculated has not been sufficiently documented.
