A core transcriptional regulatory circuitry controls super-enhancer-driven activation of LGR5 in colorectal cancer
Abstract The core transcriptional regulatory program governed by a small set of master transcription factors is pivotal for establishing context-specific cellular features. Here, we report the roles of master factor MYC in actively regulating cancer-type specific super-enhancer activity and orchestrating a super-enhancer-dependent core transcriptional regulatory circuitry consisting of MYC, ETS2, and FOXP1 in colorectal cancer.

Photothermal catalytic synthesis of cyclohexanones from lignin-derived phenolic bio-oils enabling transparent and elastic polyamides
Abstract Cyclohexanones, as critical precursors for polyamide 6, are inherently challenging to synthesize from lignin-derived phenolic bio-oils due to the high dissociation energy of the aryl-OCH3 bond and the competitive risk of C=O bond over-hydrogenation.

Inverse decoration of TiOx to NiSn alloy nanoparticles for efficient hydrodeoxygenation of m-cresol - Nature Communications
Abstract Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of phenolics is crucial for lignin-to-fuel production via fast pyrolysis. The reaction under atmospheric H2 pressure offers compatibility with pyrolysis conditions, high aromatic selectivity and low H2 consumption, but suffers from coking-induced catalyst deactivation. In this work, we report a TiOx-decorated NiSn/SiO2 catalyst (Ti-NiSn/SiO2), achieving 100% deoxygenation selectivity and enhanced stability in m-cresol HDO.
Trace-level halogen blocks CO2 emission in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for olefins production
Editor’s summary Two different strategies can produce olefins from synthesis gas (syngas, a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen) with fewer CO2 by-products over iron-based catalysts (see the Perspective by Saeys). Cai et al. fed trace amounts of bromomethane with syngas over iron-based catalysts.
Stabilized Fe7C3 catalyst with K–Mg dual promotion for robust CO2 hydrogenation to high-value olefins - Nature Communications
Abstract Iron carbide catalysts, particularly the Fe7C3 phase, hold significant potential for efficient CO2 hydrogenation to olefins, yet stabilizing this phase under reactive conditions remains a major challenge. Herein, we report a robust and efficient synthesis of nearly phase-pure Fe7C3 catalysts derived from Prussian blue analogues, whose stability is significantly enhanced by strategically incorporating K and Mg promoters.
In-line NMR guided orthogonal transformation of real-life plastics - Nature
Abstract The global crisis of plastic waste accumulation threatens wildlife and ecosystems1. Catalytic processes that convert plastic waste into valuable chemicals and fuels offer promising solutions2. Recycling or upcycling of real-life plastic mixtures is challenging owing to their diverse composition and structure3. Here we propose a product-oriented strategy leveraging the orthogonality in reactivities of different functional groups in plastic mixtures to yield valuable products.

A highly efficient and regenerable Ir1–Cu1 dual-atom catalyst for low-temperature alkane dehydrogenation - Nature Catalysis
Abstract Alkane dehydrogenation as a direct route to produce olefins receives widespread attention from industry and academia. However, high temperatures (>550 °C) are often needed to break C–H bonds, leading to deleterious side reactions in the alkane dehydrogenation process. Here we reduce the reaction temperature of n-butane dehydrogenation by fabricating a robust and regenerable Ir1–Cu1 dual-atom catalyst.
Shielding Pt/γ-Mo2N by inert nano-overlays enables stable H2 production - Nature
Abstract The use of reactive supports to disperse metal species is crucial for constructing highly efficient interfacial catalysts, by tuning the competitive reactant adsorption–activation pattern in supported metal catalysts into a non-competitive mechanism1,2,3. However, these reactive supports are prone to deterioration during catalysis, limiting the lifespan of the catalyst and their potential practical applications4.

Acid-responsive singlet oxygen nanodepots
Acid-responsive singlet oxygen nanodepots† The singlet oxygen carrier addresses the challenges of traditional photodynamic therapy (PDT), which relies on the presence of oxygen within solid tumors and struggles with light penetration issues. However, the inability to control the release of singlet oxygen has hindered precise treatment applications. Here, we introduce an acid-responsive singlet oxygen nanodepot (aSOND) designed to overcome this limitation.

Fully exposed Pt clusters for efficient catalysis of multi-step hydrogenation reactions - Nature Communications
Abstract For di-nitroaromatics hydrogenation, it is a challenge to achieve the multi-step hydrogenation with high activity and selectivity due to the complexity of the process involving two nitro groups. Consequently, many precious metal catalysts suffer from low activity for this multi-step hydrogenation reaction.

Valorization of waste biodegradable polyester for methyl methacrylate production - Nature Sustainability
Abstract Biodegradable polyesters such as polylactic acid are promising alternatives to conventional plastics as they do not accumulate in the environment upon disposal. However, their biodegradation leads to CO2 emissions. Alternatively, waste biodegradable polyesters could serve as a carbon source for the production of value-added chemicals. Valorization of waste biodegradable polyesters not only avoids CO2 emissions during their biodegradation but also achieves sustainable carbon use.
Echinococcus granulosus protoscoleces promotes proliferation and invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma cells
Abstract There may exist a connection between Echinococcus granulosus infection and cancer development. Here, it is aimed to investigate specific effects of E. granulosus protoscoleces (PSCs) on the proliferation and invasion capacities of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells in vitro and ex vitro. HepG2 cells were cultured with different quantities of E. granulosus PSCs in vitro. MTT analysis was used to evaluate effects of E. granulosus PSCs on the proliferation of HepG2 cells.
