(14:05) And CB Patrick Peterson announced his retirement (19:36).

Before we wrap up, we look back on the iconic 2014 film, Draft Day (48:02).

Dan Hanzus and Marc Sessler are joined by Conor Orr to catch up on the latest NFL news! NFL draft: Ranking all 24 quarterback classes since 2000
The 2024 NFL Draft offers yet another pool of potential franchise quarterbacks. Before we welcome those prospects into the club, let's take stock of where we stand today. Marc Sessler has once again updated his rankings of each QB draft class that has entered the NFL since the turn of the millennium. Last offseason's rankings have been altered to reflect a scenery-shifting 2023 campaign. NOTE: Pro Bowlers are denoted by an asterisk (*).
NFL Podcaster Labels New York Jets' Roster 'On the Rise'
It's becoming the near consensus opinion — the New York Jets have noticeably improved their roster this off-season. With the results appearing on NFL.com, Marc Sessler, the "Around The NFL" podcast host, identified "which rosters improved the most over the past few months." The NFL Media contributor selected 10 teams, and Gang Green appeared at the top of the list. The Jets were the lone AFC East team to appear amongst the "rosters on the rise," but all four AFC North squads made the cut.
NFL's most improved teams in 2023? Bears, Jets among 10 rosters on the rise this offseason
The subject of giggles for years on end, Gang Green now rests as a legitimate Super Bowl option after nabbing Aaron Rodgers. General manager Joe Douglas never blinked during the club’s elongated pursuit of the four-time MVP. Perhaps it’s a one-year rental, but Rodgers waltzes into a promising situation. I dig the concept of a revenge-fueled Aa-Rod flinging passes to Garrett Wilson with a back-from-injury Breece Hall rumbling out of the backfield.
Biggest remaining offseason priority for each AFC team: Bills, Chiefs still searching for WR help?
Much of the 2023 offseason is in the rearview mirror, with a majority of top free agents off the market and the draft complete. However, there are still pressing matters for each team to address before the '23 NFL season kicks off on Sept. 7. Marc Sessler identifies the top remaining offseason priority for each AFC team below.
Biggest remaining offseason priority for each NFC team: Could trade winds blow for QBs?
Top priority: Like it or not, all in on Sam Not unlike Tampa above, the Commanders are crossing their fingers at quarterback. Jacoby Brissett is a fine backup who showed starting traits a year ago. He's hardly a sure thing, though, which is also true of second-year arm Sam Howell. Washington brass appears unmoved, ignoring the position in the draft and telling us on repeat that Howell is their guy. He was an engrossing watch in the team's Week 18 romp over the Cowboys.
NFL QB Index: Who headlines a way-too-early list of MVP candidates under center? Check out my top 10!
The free agency frenzy's in the rearview mirror, the draft is in the books -- and the schedule is out. The NFL in 2023 doubles as a weekly fistfight between under-center icons eyeing Super Bowl windows. Especially in the top-heavy AFC, where you and I will be spending more quality time with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers than we do with our actual human counterparts. In the less-shiny NFC, it largely boils down to what Football Gods, Inc.
NFL draft: Ranking every quarterback class since 2000
The first round produced a long-range starter in Alex Smith and one of football's burning suns in four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers. We all know how Rodgers fumed while watching 21 teams (the Vikings and Cowboys each picked twice in the top 23) pass him by before the Packers added him to a roster already equipped with Brett Favre under center. The chance to sit and learn helped Rodgers, who went on to win a Super Bowl and emerge as a lock for Canton.
NFL trade grades: Weighing deals for No. 1 pick, Jalen Ramsey, Brandin Cooks, more
Texans receive: 2023 5th-rounder (No. 161 overall) 2024 6th-rounder Flamed last March for sending Amari Cooper to Cleveland for a bag of spoons, Dallas now sits in the fleecer's seat. No longer held hostage by Zeke Elliott's unwieldy pact, the Cowboys landed a player in Cooks who arrives as another alpha beside wideout CeeDee Lamb.
2023 NFL free agency: Biggest moves (and non-moves) so far
The opening wave of NFL free agency saw a flurry of activity, with big-name quarterbacks and trades for big-time playmakers stealing the headlines. Let's take a look at the free agency happenings -- and non-happenings -- that matter most. BIGGEST MOVES SO FAR Bears swapping No. 1 for a bundle: Bears fans have long wandered through a frustrating wilderness. Beyond a smattering of fool's gold playoff appearances, Chicago has struggled to forge an enduring identity -- especially on offense.
NFL QB Index: Ranking all 68 starting quarterbacks from the 2022 NFL season
This is the final, post-Super Bowl LVII rankings of every quarterback who started a game during the 2022 NFL campaign -- based on play from the regular season AND the playoffs. Here are my rankings, 1 through 68. Rank 1 Kansas City Chiefs · Year 6 2022 stats: 20 games | 67.8 pct | 5,953 pass yds | 8.0 ypa | 48 pass TD | 12 INT | 418 rush yds | 4 rush TD | 6 fumbles 2021 final ranking: 7 | 2020: 3 | 2019: 2 | 2018: 1 | 2017: N/A There is no match. No comparison. No other.
Seven NFL moves that didn't pan out in 2022 ... but we STILL applaud them
"The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." We don't need Robert Burns to suggest the same holds true for general managers feeling their oats in the middle of March, crafting big-swing moves for players talked about as gods at the ready to turn wavering squads into beasts.
Tom Brady landing spots: Raiders, Dolphins, 49ers among potential fits in 2023
There's a couple ways to handle this: We can craft a list of teams where Tom Brady might wind up come September. Spend our time chewing through the positives and negatives, hashing out scheme fits and weighing which rosters best suit a 45-year-old quarterback who must be protected, or else. We can do nothing. Simply sit on our hands until Brady makes a move. Passive approach. Gandhi-style. You've visited NFL.com, and the second option is not how we roll.
2023 NFL offseason quarterback market preview: Which teams are in need? Who could be available?
Quarterback is kind of important in today's NFL. It's why I spend every week of the regular season reviewing the tape and ranking all 32 starters. Today, though, I'd like to spin analysis forward with a look at the position's substantial role in the coming months of roster reconstruction. Which teams are in need of a quarterback? Which big-name signal-callers could be on the move? And what's going on with one of the game's most electric players?
NFL QB Index: Ranking all 32 teams' primary starting quarterbacks at the end of the 2022 regular season

NFL QB Index, Week 17: Kirk Cousins back in top 10; Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold trending up
NOTE: Up/down arrows illustrate movement from the Week 16 QB Index. Rankings reflect each quarterback's standing heading into Week 17. 2022 stats: 15 games | 66.9 pct | 4,720 pass yds | 8.1 ypa | 37 pass TD | 11 INT | 321 rush yds | 4 rush TD | 5 fumbles Mahomes unearths new avenues to victory with each new outing.

Chicago's leading man programmed madness of his own, though, with Sunday's most gorgeous gallop, darting out of a would-be sack for what appeared to be a 48-yard dance to paydirt.
NFL QB Index, Week 15: San Francisco 49ers rookie Brock Purdy soars into top half of rankings
NOTE: Up/down arrows illustrate movement from the Week 14 QB Index. Rankings reflect each quarterback's standing heading into Week 15. 2022 stats: 13 games | 65.8 pct | 4,160 pass yds | 8.1 ypa | 33 pass TD | 11 INT | 280 rush yds | 2 rush TD | 4 fumbles Mahomes stays here by a hair over the surging Jalen Hurts.
NFL QB Index, Week 14: Joe Burrow knocking on door of top three; Tom Brady doing Tom Brady things
2022 stats: 2 games | 62.4 pct | 684 pass yds | 8 ypa | 3 pass TD | 2 INT | 9 rush yds | 1 rush TD | 0 fumbles On a Jets team looking for a leader under center, here’s what Mike White said about New York missing too many scoring opportunities in a wrenching loss to Minnesota: “My job as a quarterback is to put our team in the best position, and that’s scoring when we’re in the red zone. It starts with me.
NFL QB Index, Week 13: Dak Prescott earns highest ranking of 2022; new low for Russell Wilson

NFL QB Index, Week 12: Jalen Hurts leapfrogs Josh Allen; Kirk Cousins slides
NOTE: Up/down arrows illustrate movement from the Week 11 QB Index. Rankings reflect each quarterback's standing heading into Week 12. 2022 stats: 10 games | 66.3 pct | 3,265 pass yds | 8.2 ypa | 28 pass TD | 7 INT | 238 rush yds | 1 rush TD | 4 fumbles On some future winter’s evening, Chiefs tight end Jody Fortson will lounge by the hearth -- a flock of grandchildren draped around him -- telling tales of hauling in one of the juiciest throws ever authored by Patrick Mahomes.

NFL QB Index, Week 7: Josh Allen reclaims No. 1 spot; Aaron Rodgers' slide continues
This week, we're breaking away from our normal QB Index formatting to present our ranking of all 32 starting signal-callers in haiku form. Why? Here's a better question: Why not? On Monday night, Mahomes matched him, slowly breaking the Raiders with 4 methodical touchdown drives that found Travis Kelce at the end of each yellow brick road.
NFL QB Index, Week 5: Patrick Mahomes rises to No. 1; Geno Smith skyrockets into top 10
2022 stats: 1 game | 50 pct | 252 pass yds | 7 ypa | 1 pass TD | 2 INT | 15 rush yds | 0 rush TD | 0 fumbles The Jets must discover what they have in their headband-wearing starter. Wilson was nondescript for three quarters against the Steelers, but his rousing final frame - he was 10-of-12 passing during a pair of long touchdown drives - saved the day. Corey Davis called him a "warrior" after the winning performance, one of a handful of teammates to praise Wilson's resolve down the stretch.

His flawless outing against the Titans showed Buffalo’s pole star at the height of his abilities. Allen’s quick decisions and arm strength leave little room for error in the secondary.
NFL QB Index, Week 2: Josh Allen claims the No. 1 spot, but Patrick Mahomes is hot on his heels
Ranking quarterbacks, at its core, is a subjective exercise. In doing so, I'm choosing to lean heavily on career sample size out of the gate. The first few weeks of an NFL season are exploratory and volatile. The most striking visual we have of Aaron Rodgers from Sunday is the agitated quarterback bent out of shape on the sideline. Whipping his hands about. Using the language of a sailor.
NFL QB Index, Week 1: Ranking all 32 starters entering 2022 season
Before we talk about quarterbacks, I'd like to talk about two friends. The QB Index is the brainchild of my colleague, Gregg Rosenthal. For many moons, he used this space to transmit his thoughts on the state of play under center. Gregg loves pro football more than anyone I know. His adoration never wanes; his enthusiasm is childlike (I'm certain he sleeps under one of those 1988 bedspreads with all 28 teams from the era).
Giants' Kadarius Toney among wide receivers poised for Year 2 breakout in 2022
In this week-long series, NFL Network analysts examine the notable Year 2 players at different position groups who are poised for a breakout campaign in 2022. Today, Marc Sessler spotlights five wide receivers. Pro football's gaggle of wideouts are loving our current reality.
NFL's most improved teams in 2022? Raiders, Eagles, Chargers among six rosters on the rise this offseason
This one's simple. The Broncos have resembled a playoff hopeful on paper for years, save for one endless misadventure: the quarterback position. That all changed when general manager George Paton and first-time coach Nathaniel Hackett engineered a blockbuster deal for Russell Wilson. Now it's the Seahawks trying to pitch Drew Lock to a suspicious public, while Hackett happily fawns over Ciara and draws up a dreamy new scheme revolving around Wilson's powerful gifts.
Biggest remaining offseason priority for each AFC team: Should Colts sign Odell Beckham Jr.?
Much of the 2022 offseason is in the rearview mirror, with a number of top NFL free agents off the market and the NFL draft complete. However, there are still pressing matters for each team to address before the 2022 NFL season kicks off on Sept. 8. Marc Sessler identifies the top remaining offseason priority for each AFC team below. Top priority: Add proven help at wideout Trading away Marquise "Hollywood" Brown to Arizona left the Ravens wanting at wideout.
Biggest remaining offseason priority for each NFC team: Can 49ers placate Deebo Samuel?

NFC Roster Reset: Conference hierarchy heading into 2022 NFL Draft
The most hectic NFL offseason in human history has left the NFC in a funny place. While its counterpart, the AFC, is flush with powerhouses and potential kings, that's not the case in this neighborhood. The Buccaneers and Rams rest as legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Same for the Niners and Packers, if you squint. The Cowboys see themselves as eternal world champs – but we don't. Does anyone trust the Cardinals, Eagles or Vikings to pull off a pristine playoff run?
NFL trade grades: Assessing relocations of Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill
Published: Mar 24, 2022 at 03:36 PM Free agency's whirlwind has shaken up rosters across the NFL, but that's not the only avenue for offseason change. The new league year has delivered a rash of trades, big and small. Here's my report card on the most notable deals thus far.
2022 NFL free agency: Biggest moves (and non-moves) so far
A franchise quarterback with bona fides. You have one or you don't. If you're in possession of such a treasure, free agency simply becomes an exercise in building around his prized arm. Teams stuck mining for one on the open market travel a far darker road. We've experienced a tangible shift over the past few seasons: Fans are too savvy to be pitched a roster revolving around Tyrod Taylor or Teddy Bridgewater.
2022 NFL free agency matchmaking: One fit for each AFC team
NFL free agency officially begins with the arrival of the new league year at 4 p.m. ET on Wed., March 16. As we head toward the open market, Marc Sessler explores one fun free agency fit for each AFC team. NOTE: All cap figures and projections cited below come from Over The Cap, unless otherwise noted. As with Gregg Rosenthal's Top 101 NFL Free Agents of 2022, each player's listed age represents how old he will be on Sept. 8, when the 2022 NFL season is poised to kick off.
