Mayor Cara Spencer (L) Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson (C) and Police Chief Robert Tracy (R) Sean Malone, KMOX News Significant raises for St. Louis Police Command Staff have been tabled for at least two weeks, due in part to the matching pay raises they would trigger for the Fire Department jeopardizing the City's balanced budget. Mayor Cara Spencer says the City only received 36 hours notice of the raises before the meeting and must pass a balanced budget by the end of the month.

In Illinois some businesses refuse to take cash. State Senator Christopher Belt's The Retail Cash Payment Act prohibits retailers from doing that. "It's just the way that we're trending. Everything is cashless." Many people do not have bank accounts, while others are just more comfortable using cash. The Retail Cash Payment Act is waiting Governor Pritzker's signature. Senator Belt expects him to sign off.

Mid-America TransplantMid-America Transplant has become the first organ procurement organization in the nation to use drone transportation for donor blood samples .Kevin Lee President and CEO of Mid-America Transplant tells KMOX for many years they have been serving the Springfield Missouri area. After receiving permission from a family, a blood sample is taken from the loved one and it's sent to Saint Louis to test blood for medical suitability for donation in transplant.
