What was your first job as a journalist?

My first paying job was this past summer as a journalist for the Orangeville Banner via Torstar's Summer Student Journalism program.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer to be emailed if an outlet thinks I am suitable to write a story. I am pretty quick with responses.

What's your favorite social network?

I like Twitter and Instagram equally. I love connecting with fellow journos on Twitter and the visual aspect of IG.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story I am most proud of writing is the one about a Syrian refugee family in Orangeville and their food truck business.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

At the student newspaper, a writer recently pitched an idea about mourning her dream of a "normal university experience".

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I am most likely in my kitchen, cooking up a new recipe for my family. I love cooking for others and find it relaxing and creative.
