What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a freelance writer in Lewiston, Maine for the Sun Journal's lifestyle section and Special Sections departments.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Oh, many many times when I was in school. While I love being able to backspace to erase now, I miss the feeling of the typewriter keys.
What's your favorite social network?
Right now, it's a toss-up between TikTok and Instagram, mostly because I know when I go there, I can get a laugh, a smile, or inspired.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
We didn't have a school newspaper, actually. But, we did have a journalism club that helped contribute to our town paper from time to time
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Remember journalism is about telling the facts. People will draw their own conclusions--some will align yours and some will not.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Right now, mostly at home thanks to COVID. But, I'm likely listening to music or out taking a walk or run.
