Data show that the presence of women in quantum science is affected by a number of detriments and their percentage decreases even further for higher positions. Beyond data, from our shared personal experiences as female tenured quantum physics professors, we believe that the current model of scientific leadership, funding, and authority fails to represent many of us. Women for quantum calls for a joint effort and aims with this initiative to contribute to such a transformation.

Nuovo è una parola sempre vecchia che in contesto socioeconomico sbuca ogni volta che la realtà cambia e si cerca di adattare le sue nuove forme a impalcature vecchie. Oggi se ne riparla dopo la crisi pandemica, per capire cosa abbiamo – da etimo – setacciato come utile da ciò che non serve. Cosa abbiamo setacciato di quell’impossibile divenuto possibile? Di angusti spazi in sovraffollate città percorsi in tempi frenetici, improvvisamente allargati in paesaggi bucolici in un tempo dilatato?
