Yes. When I was in 4th and 5th grade, the school district sent someone to teach me how to type on a manual typewriter.
Why did you become a journalist?
I am actually a professor, but I write--and get asked to write--a lot of short, journalistic pieces.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes, I was an editorial writer.
