I don't know how your couple of years have been, but if they've been as bad as John Kearns's, I'm very sorry. His last tour, 2023's The Varnishing Days, charted far more optimistic waters. Now he's temporarily back living with his parents, with his four year-old son sometimes along for the ride. Does misery make for great comedy? You might find yourself considering the question, if you're keeping up with his work. That last tour didn't have enough comic firepower to sell Kearns's alternative charms.
