Abstract Acute brain dysfunction (delirium) is common in sepsis, and many survivors develop persistent cognitive impairment. Cerebral hypoperfusion and edema are implicated, yet it is unknown whether intracranial hypertension contributes to the neurological sequelae of sepsis, and no therapies specifically target cerebral hemodynamic dysfunction.
