Last night in High School sports involving Metro schools: In Baseball: Linn-Mar swept a doubleheader from Cedar Falls, 10-8 and 13-9. Dubuque Wahlert shutout Waterloo West 7-0. Fort Dodge swept a doubleheader from Waterloo East, 11-0 and 14-1 And New Hampton defeated Columbus Catholic 10-0. And in Softball: Iowa City Liberty swept a doubleheader from Cedar Falls, 6-4 and 3-1. Waterloo West swept a doubleheader from Iowa City West, 12-0 and 22-8.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the Baseball Postseason brackets for the state’s largest schools. Class 3A and 4A Substate quarterfinal play will start a week from this Friday on July 10th. Three Metro teams will be competing in 4A. Cedar Falls will host Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Waterloo West is at Fort Dodge And Waterloo East has a road game at Southeast Polk.
