UAlbany is only a 1-point underdog at Memphis tonight. Pretty remarkable. Says something about how UAlbany (10-1) is playing, and about where the Tigers (6-2) are under Tubby Smith. Memphis has beaten mid-majors Samford, Mercer and Northern Kentucky by a combined 5 points.
Clareth: “I apologized to (official Nathan Farrell). I didn’t know that was going to be a technical foul. I was just telling him I was trying to pump my team up and get the energy going and stuff and it wouldn’t happen again.”
Siena’s Nico Clareth said he got the technical foul last night because he said, “And one!” when he thought he got fouled after making a 3-pointer. Jimmy Patsos said officials had warned Clareth after he’d said the same thing earlier in the game.
The record doesn’t surprise me, either. Very tough schedule. Thought they’d play Vermont tougher than they did.
