Daratumumab ± pomalidomide maintenance after salvage autologous transplantation in relapsed multiple myeloma: a phase 2 study
Dear Editor, Salvage or delayed autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has historically been an important treatment option for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). However, its role has been challenged in recent years with the emergence of highly active T-cell–redirecting therapies, including bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy [1].

Reduced relapse in high risk acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic neoplasms with permissive HLA-DPB1 mismatches and post-transplant cyclophosphamide | Leukemia
Abstract Disease progression, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and non-relapse mortality (NRM) are the main causes of failure after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (SCT) for myeloid neoplasms. T-cell epitope–based models classify HLA-DPB1 mismatches by permissiveness and have been associated with differential risks of GVHD, relapse, and NRM.

Antioxidant Carbon Nanoparticles Inhibit Fibroblast-Like Synoviocyte Invasiveness and Reduce Disease Severity in a Rat Model of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Abstract Reactive oxygen species have been involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Our goal was to determine the effects of selectively scavenging superoxide (O2•−) and hydroxyl radicals with antioxidant nanoparticles, called poly(ethylene glycol)-functionalized hydrophilic carbon clusters (PEG-HCCs), on the pathogenic functions of fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) from patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and on the progression of an animal model of RA.

"Multiple Myeloma Patients With a Long Remission After Autologous Hemat" by Oren Pasvolsky, Zhongya Wang et al.
Autologous stem cell transplantation (autoHCT) is considered standard of care for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM). Although most patients eventually progress after autoHCT, a small proportion achieve a durable response. In this retrospective study we included 1576 patients, 244 (15%) of whom were long-term responders (LTR), defined as having a progression-free survival (PFS) of ≥8 years after transplant. Patients in the LTR group were younger than the non-LTR group (median age 58.4 vs.
Outcomes of Young Adults (Aged ≤ 40 Years) With Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma After Up-Front Autologous Stem Cell Transplant
Multiple myeloma (MM) primarily affects older patients. There are scarce data on the outcomes of young adults undergoing autologous transplantation (auto-HCT). In this single-centre analysis, we included 117 younger patients, with a median age of 37 years (range 22-40) at transplant. Seventeen (15%) patients had high-risk cytogenetics. Before transplant, 10% of patients achieved ≥CR and 44% achieved ≥VGPR. At best post-transplant response, 56% and 77% of patients achieved ≥CR and ≥VGPR respectively.
