At least 15 dead after Lisbon's historic funicular derails

At least 15 people have been killed and 18 others injured after a carriage on Lisbon's famous Gloria funicular derailed and crashed, emergency services said. Portugal's emergency medical service authority said that five of those injured were in a serious condition. The remaining thirteen, including a child, sustained minor injuries. Several people were earlier said to have been trapped at the scene. They have all since been freed, authorities said.

Al menos 15 personas murieron y otras 18 resultaron heridas este miércoles luego de que el emblemático ascensor de la Gloria de Lisboa descarrilara y se estrellara contra un edificio. Según informaron los servicios de emergencia de la capital portuguesa, 5 de los heridos se encontraban en estado grave. Los trece restantes, incluido un niño, sufrieron heridas leves.
