Damit bleiben alternative Stores und externe App-Downloads zwar möglich, sie sind aber an neue Auflagen gebunden. Zeitgleich bewegt sich Apple in die entgegengesetzte Richtung: Unter dem Druck des EU-Digital Markets Act öffnet sich das Apple iPhone für alternative Stores und neue Bezahlwege.

Marktführer wie Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo und Google werden allesamt mit Android betrieben. Als kleines Projekt von Google im Jahr 2003 bzw. 2005 gestartet, entwickelte sich Android zur gefragtesten Software für Smartphones. Ursprünglich wurde Android gar nicht als Betriebssystem für Smartphones, sondern für Digitalkameras entwickelt. Los ging es mit dem HTC Dream im Jahr 2008, welches „nur“ etwa 1 Million Mal verkauft wurde.

Ende von Microsoft Windows 10 steht endgültig bevor!

Noch in diesem Jahr markiert Microsoft einen entscheidenden Einschnitt: Ab Mitte Oktober stellt der Konzern nämlich die regulären Sicherheits-Updates für das Betriebssystem Windows 10 ein. Erstmals können auch private Anwender an einem offiziellen Verlängerungsprogramm teilnehmen. Fachleute betonen dennoch, dass dies nur eine Übergangslösung darstellt und empfehlen den baldigen Umstieg auf Windows 11.
