The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a flood watch for Adair County and five surrounding counties, warning that excessive rainfall could trigger flash flooding starting Wednesday afternoon. The watch, which went into effect at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday, will remain in place through Thursday morning. It covers Adair, Schuyler, Putnam, Sullivan, Macon and Linn counties, affecting communities including Kirksville, Unionville, Milan, Macon, Lancaster and Brookfield.
