Ultimate Tofu Breakfast Burrito Bowls

I am new to eating a Whole Foods plant based diet and was struggling to find breakfast recipes that were not bland tasting and filling. The 1st time I made this, I jumped for joy as this hit the spot and kept me satiated till lunch time. I make a double batch so I don’t have to cook for a few days and vary it by adding some boiled plantain or air fried sweet potatoes or serve it as a burrito in a tortilla. Since going vegan I always make mango salsa and that goes great with this dish also.

Removal of developmentally regulated microexons has a minimal impact on larval zebrafish brain morphology and function

|
By Caleb Calhoun, Mary ES Capps, Kristie Muya, William C. Gannaway
| eLife
eLife Assessment This important work examines how microexons contribute to brain activity, structure, and behavior. The authors find that loss of microexon sequences generally has subtle impacts on these metrics in larval zebrafish, with few exceptions. The evidence is solid, using modern high-throughput phenotyping methodology in zebrafish. Overall, this work will be of interest to neuroscientists and generate further studies of interest to the field.

Genetic context of transgene insertion can influence neurodevelopment in zebrafish

Abstract The Gal4/UAS system is used across model organisms to overexpress target genes in precise cell types and relies on generating transgenic Gal4 driver lines. In zebrafish, the Tg(elavl3:KalTA4) (HuC) Gal4 line drives robust expression in neurons. We observed an increased prevalence of swim bladder defects in Tg(elavl3:KalTA4) zebrafish larvae compared to wildtype siblings, which prompted us to investigate whether transgenic larvae display additional neurobehavioral phenotypes.
