Mathew Burciaga’s Biography

Mathew Burciaga is a communications professional and award-winning journalist located in the East Bay. He is passionate about helping organizations, communities, and people tell their stories by working where media, strategic communications, and direct action intersect.

He currently works as a communications specialist for UC Berkeley’s Rausser College of Natural Resources. Prior to that, he covered criminal justice, agriculture, and K-12 education for the Santa Maria Times. He also served as editor of the Greybull Standard, a small weekly newspaper in Greybull, Wyoming.

Mathew received a Master of Public Policy Northeastern University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
