Yes, but not recently. I've considered buying one, though.
How is social media changing news?
While it offers a sharp reporter new sources, it also offers the public myriad new options for getting information.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a seeker of truth. To hold government accountable. To believe that what you do is important.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My primary computer is a MacBook Air. I use both an iPhone and Android. RadarScope is my favorite app.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook.
Why did you become a journalist?
I'm insatiably curious and I love writing. There's nothing like being the first with information and deciding how to present it.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I wrote editorials for a couple years before joining the staff. I was the editorial page editor my senior year.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be willing to learn. Be willing to be surprised. Always be aware of your assumptions and be willing to discard them.
When's the best time to pitch you?
When you have a good story idea.
