It wasn’t the greatest day for the Cubs’ minor league squad, as all four teams suffered losses. However, there were a few bright spots, including an Owen Ayers home run. Let’s recap the action. Image via MiLB Iowa lost its opener against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees) on Tuesday due to some late bullpen issues. However, early on, it was the Owen show for the Cubs offensively.

Vikings Extend OT Brian O’Neill, Could Darnell Wright Be Next?

A top right tackle who resides in the NFC North, Brian O’Neill, has signed a long-awaited contract extension. Unfortunately, that right tackle isn’t yet Darnell Wright. Early Tuesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that the Vikings had agreed to a contract extension with mainstay right tackle Brian O’Neill on a four-year deal worth $96 million. O’Neill is entering the last year of his current deal that carries a cap hit of $23.1 million.

The Chicago Bears arrive at Halas Hall soon to kick off Training Camp, with rookies reporting on Saturday, July 25, and veterans following on Tuesday, July 28. As is tradition, we’re going to spend the week taking stock of the roster and setting the scene for the annual unofficial start to the season. It’s a little wild to think that the Chicago Bears offensive line is setting up to be one of the team’s major strengths heading into the 2026 season, but that’s exactly where we are at this point.
