PHILADELPHIA— “It hurts to the core.” Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson commented on the end of the 2025 season during the club’s annual postseason press conference. Both Thomson and President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski spoke for nearly an hour and a half regarding the past season and the team’s future. There will not be a chance at the top as the Phillies will move forward with Thomson in 2026.

Bryce Harper named Gold Glove finalist for 2025 – Philly Sports

PHILADELPHIA— For the second straight season, Bryce Harper has been named a finalist for the National League Gold Glove award. The Phillies’ first baseman has played the position for just two and a half seasons after transitioning from the outfield in 2023. Harper learned to play first base in an effort to fill a hole left by the injured Rhys Hoskins that season. It was also a strategic move on his end, moving to a position that demanded less of the veteran physically.

Rob Thomson is safe for 2026 sources tell me and @Joelsherman1 @nypostsports — Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) October 13, 2025 Thomson is 346-251 since taking over the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022. He has been one of the most successful coaches in this time period.
