STAR TANNERY — The owners of the proposed Simply Shenandoah nature resort in northwestern Shenandoah County say they’re working on finalizing financing before breaking ground on the $175 million project. To be constructed on 550 acres at 1815 Turkey Run Road, the original plans for Simply Shenandoah included multiple buildings for arrivals, meetings, food and beverage, spa and aquatics, fitness and yoga as well as six lodges with more than 100 rooms.

CHARLES TOWN — Isaah Beard donned athletic tape above both elbows and on his forearms with a simple message during Musselman’s pregame warmup against Washington Friday night: “You can’t guard me.” The junior wide receiver went on to catch five passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-6 win for the Appleton over the Patriots at Terry L. Marcus Stadium Friday. “I feel like I haven’t been getting as much respect as I should be getting,” Beard said following the game.
