Bow Echo will compete for a bolstered prize at Goodwood this month after it was announced the Sussex Stakes (G1) will be run for a record £1.5 million (approx. $2,000,272, £1 = $1.33). The unbeaten Two Thousand Guineas (G1) and St James's Palace Stakes (G1) winner heads the betting for the group 1 on July 29, with the increased prize money cementing it as Europe's most valuable mile race. Bow Echo's trainer George Boughey said: "It's fantastic news and a huge positive for British racing.
Delaware held vital place in America’s founding 250 years ago
Why Should Delaware Care? As America marks its semiquincentennial on July 4, Delaware can be remembered for its service in the statesmanship and military service in the founding of the nation. On July 1, 1776, Caesar Rodney was in Dover, questioning British loyalists when he received the fateful word from counterparts in Philadelphia at the Second Continental Congress. His vote had become crucial, and his presence in Philadelphia was necessary the next day.

(Spotlight Delaware is a community-powered, collaborative, nonprofit newsroom covering the First State. Learn more at SpotlightDelaware.com). O'Brien Denies Team Tactics From His Ascot Riders
Aidan O'Brien has dismissed the suggestion that team tactics were employed in the June 16 St. James's Palace Stakes (G1) at Ascot Racecourse after Christophe Soumillon was handed an eight-day ban by the stewards. Bow Echo won a messy St. James's Palace Stakes narrowly from Gstaad to extend his unbeaten record, but it was the aftermath that provided the major flashpoint of Royal Ascot's opening two days.
Political party change deadline nears ahead of Delaware primary elections
Why Should Delaware Care? With a vast array of government offices up for grabs throughout Delaware in September’s primary elections, the deadline to change your political party affiliation in order to vote in those races – 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 29 – is right around the corner. Under Delaware’s closed party primary system, voters can only participate in their own party’s primary election. A bill challenging that system, however, is making its way through the General Assembly.
Psilocybin-assisted therapy for difficult-to-treat depression: underwhelming, but still vital?
Psychedelics were once, not so long ago, held up by select vocal advocates as a New Panacea for difficult-to-treat (or treatment-resistant) depression, as psychological ‘antibiotics’ that would revolutionise psychiatry. Then came the naysayers, those with vehement reservations about the science of psychoactives. Rivers of ink were spilled in the literature over methodology, veracity, validity.
Conservative group challenges Delaware campaign finance law
Why Should Delaware Care? As state lawmakers seek to further expand election transparency rules in Delaware, an ongoing legal battle could remove some of those same campaign finance disclosures entirely. As the lawsuit – waged by a conservative, billionaire-backed advocacy group – makes its way through the courts, some political candidates in the First State have already begun campaigning ahead of this fall’s midterm elections.

Characterising the clinical associations of hallucinogen persisting perception disorder: a retrospective cohort study
Abstract Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD) is characterised by episodes of altered perception linked to past psychoactive drug use, accompanied by distress and functional impairment. To date, clinical characterisation has been limited in scale. Using TriNetX, a global federated health research network of electronic health records, we conducted a retrospective cohort study comparing clinical associations in individuals with HPPD versus population and psychedelic-using controls.
State’s highest court to hear case on whether landlords must participate in Section 8 program
ITHACA, N.Y. — New York state’s highest court will hear a case in which an Ithaca real estate magnate is arguing that their constitutional rights protect landlords from having to participate in the federal government’s Section 8 housing voucher program. In 2022, Attorney General Letitia James in 2022 sued Ithaca Renting Co., owned by longtime Ithaca real estate figure Jason Fane, over the company’s refusal to participate in the program.
Refuge by day, forage by night: Diel activity of vine weevil as characterised by smart monitoring
INTRODUCTION Vine weevil, Otiorhynchus sulcatus (Fabricius, 1775; Coleoptera: Curculionidae), is one of the most economically important pest species in global soft fruit and ornamental crops (Pope & Roberts, 2022). Adult feeding typically occurs at night and results in characteristic notching along leaf margins (Moorhouse et al., 1992).

ITHACA, N.Y. — A New York appellate court ruling earlier this month struck down a 2019 housing rights law that forbade landlords from refusing to accept Section 8 housing vouchers as payment for rental units.
Final defendant found guilty of murder, kidnapping in Thomas Rath case
ITHACA, N.Y. — Jonathan Glennon, one of 13 people arrested in the gruesome May 2023 killing of Ithaca resident Thomas Rath, was convicted of second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping on Feb. 20. The jury reached a split verdict, acquitting Glennon of first-degree murder, the most serious charge he faced. Glennon will be sentenced on April 27, by Judge Adam Schumacher in Tioga County Court.
What B2C Marketers Should do about California's DROP Tool
On January 1, 2026, California launched the Delete Request Opt-Out Platform, better known as DROP. The tool allows the state’s 40 million residents to delete their personal information from more than 500 registered data brokers with a single click. By August 1, when data brokers must begin processing these deletion requests every 45 days, the third-party data infrastructure that B2C marketers have relied upon for decades will become even more unreliable. This isn’t a theoretical policy shift.

Edinburgh Is A Dead Night Out
I am not going to try and convince you that there is something wrong with the music scene in Edinburgh. In fact I think it is incredible, the amount of variety and talent is astounding. From fresh indie bands to big-name DJs and even 17-piece jazz ensembles, there is no shortage of exciting music. However, the issue lies on the other side of the stage barrier. The issue is the crowds. Crowds that don’t move, that don’t dance, and that have no energy.

ITHACA, N.Y. — An air quality advisory remains in effect for most of Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Similar to other periods of smoky air over the previous few years, most recently in early June, the local orange haze is the result of a slew of wildfires burning in Canada. The air quality on Tuesday is expected to be around 135 on the air quality index as a result of fine particulates in the air.

Who Let the Dogs Out by Lambrini Girls Lambrini Girls on the web: Website | Bandcamp | Release date: January 10, 2025 Label: City Slang by Matt Butler | January 10, 2025 | Reviews As flag-waving, political, wake-up-people-the-world-is-fucked albums go, this is one of the best in a long time. It is rowdy, witty, laser-guided and it sounds amazing.

The Skies Above Eternity by Fellowship Fellowship on the web: Website | Bandcamp | Release date: November 22, 2024 Label: Scarlet Records by Matt Butler | December 5, 2024 | Reviews It is rare to encounter music as genuinely invigorating as this. It contains actual mood-enhancing melodies. I tell you – there is magic in this Fellowship. You may think I am exaggerating. After all, this is just a power-metal record. Don’t all power metal records worth their groats have the, err, power to motivate?

Until The Night by New Skeletal Faces New Skeletal Faces on the web: Website | Bandcamp | Release date: November 1, 2024 Label: Peaceville Records by Matt Butler | November 11, 2024 | Reviews This album is so much fun. It is a Texas Instruments talking calculator of a record. It is a life-sized replica Galaga arcade game of an album. It is a polystyrene Big Mac box of an LP. It is as 1980s as Drew Barrymore looking quizzically at ET.
Undeath - More Insane
More Insane by Undeath Undeath on the web: Facebook | Bandcamp | Release date: October 4, 2024 Label: Prosthetic Records by Matt Butler | October 30, 2024 | Reviews Try saying “disattachment of a prophylactic from the brain” really, really fast. Now try and say it faster. Faster again – like quick enough to fit into two beats of a zillion-bpm death metal song. Yes, it is impossible. Unless you are Undeath’s Alexander Jones, who performs that feat repeatedly throughout the song of the same name.

A biker making a food delivery biker grapples with the rain. (Photo: Getty Images) Share Proposed changes to the “PayUp” ordinance in Seattle, intended to improve compensation and terms for so called “gig workers” highlights something I find interesting — and I think some people miss. Hashtronaut - No Return
No Return by Hashtronaut Hashtronaut on the web: Facebook | Bandcamp | Release date: March 22, 2024 Label: Blues Funeral Recordings by Matt Butler | March 1, 2024 | Reviews These kids have certainly done their homework. Sure, occasionally this album sounds like they asked Chat GPT to come up with some towering stoner-doom tracks that sound like Electric Wizard or Monolord, but by and large this is a noxiously satisfying pean to marijuana. And they have been meticulous in their research.
