クルド語で「女性・命・自由」を意味する「ジン・ジヤン・アザディー」は、北部および東部シリア自治行政区（通称ロジャバ）で、女性が果たす役割をうたうスローガン。クルド人が大多数のこの地は10年以上、直接民主主義や女性の解放に基づく独自の社会モデルを発展させてきた。 女性が社会のあらゆる分野に関わるという、中東では類のないシステムで、自治体、市民評議会、農業協同組合、治安機関などは全て男女の共同代表で運営。女性の参加率が40％を下回らないよう定められている。 この理念を体現する存在が、女性とその子供だけが暮らすジンワール村だ。村名はクルド語で「女性のための空間」を意味し、シリア内戦や家庭内暴力（ＤＶ）を逃れてきた女性たちの共同体として2018年に開村。教育、自立、共同生活の場を提供している。 昨年秋、私はロジャバで１カ月余り過ごす機会を得た。人々と生活を共にするなかで、クルド社会を深く理解し、女性が大地を守る担い手であり、新たな社会を築く設計者でもあるという「実験」を写真に収めた。 マッテオ・トレビザン（写真家） 撮影：マッテオ・トレビザン...
